A crown on implant allows to replace an absent tooth by means of a dental implant. A dental implant will then replace the root of an absent tooth and serve as a support for the crown. This solution leads to an optimal aesthetic result.
Crown on dental implant : treatment stages
1 – Pre-implant check-up
The first consultation in our Smile Partner clinics with one of our dental surgeons specialized in dental implants is recommended in order to perform a dental check-up and prepare an estimate. A panoramic X-ray and, eventually, a scanner will have to be performed as well.
2 – Placement of a dental implant
A dental implant is placed in an sterile operation block and, in general, under a local anesthesia. It replaces the root of a missing tooth. Then, a healing screw is screwed into this dental implant (a blue screw on the video). A temporary fixed or mobile prosthesis is proposed for the healing period.
3 – Placement of a crown on implant
Two visits are required for placement of a crown, the first one is a 1-day visit, the second one is a 3-day one. After the healing period of 3 months between these two visits, also called osseointegration, the healing screw is removed and replaced by an abutment screw. This screw will serve as a support of a dental crown.
